Adrean 2 Philadelphia, PA 7
June 17, 2001 - Beaver Camp Grounds , Cooperstown NY - Struggle at the plate is an understatement. AP played Downingtown, PA in Beaver Camp Grounds, located in Cooperstown, NY and lost 7-2. Downingtown originally scheduled to play this game in Doubleday Field, but with rain overnight, the 10AM game on the hollowed grounds never came off. Too bad, maybe the tradition of the old days might have helped Adrean see the ball better. Downingtown's pitchers, Sharitz and Gerhing combined to throw a 1 hitter ove seven innings. That one hit was atwo run homer from Matt Devins with Chris Darling on first on an error. Dan Maycock started for adrean and struggled through 80 pitches noit being able to locate pitches. Working from behind against an excellent team like Downingtown is a receipe foir disaster. The real issue wasn't hits, Maycock gave up only 3 and struck out 2. It was those walks, like Dominick Tofalo used to say, they'll kill you! But credit goes to Downingtown for capitalizing on Dannys inperfection. They are a good club and may be the Adrean Post Blue and Gold Classic next year. By the way, their Senior Class will graduate 1000 students this June! Some great talent in those halls.

Adrean 2 Illion 4
June 15, 2001 - Ilion Diss Field - At Diss Field in Ilion: Adrean Post 625 vs Ilion Post. Ilion Post showed a lot of savvy and took advantage of Adrean Post lack of communication in crucial situations to win their non-league contest under the lights at Diss Field 4-2.Ilion got an outstanding pitching performance from their right hander John Pumilio. Pumilio scattered 5 hits, struck out 4 with only one earned run. After Ilion jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the end of the first, young freshman pitcher Kevin McCormick settled down to hold Ilion scoreless until the 5th. McCormick, pitching in his first legion game scattered 6 hits himself while striking out 5 but gave up no walks.

Adrean tied the game in the 4th but lost the lead back to the tough Ilionites in the bottom half of the 5th when Ilion scored 2 runs on 1 hit an error and a passed ball for a 3-1 lead. Adrean scored 1 run in the sixth nad plated a lead off triple by Matt Devins on an fielders choice infield hit by Sal Li Cari. That was all the scoring Adrean would do for the evening. Ilion came back the bottom of the 6th when robinson tripled after one out and scored on a missed handled ball in the infield.

The top of the 7th saw Frank Arcuri lead off with a base hit and on the very next play was sent back to first on a disputed batters interference having stolen 2nd. With Arcuri back on first with 1 out A.J Oblak walked and Nick Galiulo was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out. Ilion brought in third baseman McCann and he promptly struck out Bill Demma with straight heat. Matt Devins who was 2 for 3 at the time lined a rocket toward the gap at second base and secondbaseman Coones made a great diving catch to save the game.

Adrean plays in Cooperstown Sunday morning at 10AM
