So don't get all worked up that this is what everyone at Adrean thinks...proceed!

It's About Time...
that young athletes and their parents take a good, long hard look at themselves and finally come to the conclusion that the grass isn't greener on the other side. What do I mean by this? It is very simple. In the past few years, more and more young athletes are turning down the opportunity to play for Coach Mike Macchione and Adrean Post. Thinking that other teams will "have more fun or won't have to practice all the time." But the one thing that they are forgetting is that they are losing out on an opportunity to learn more about the game of baseball than they ever thought possible.

On top of all of that, what many of the parents don't realize is that their son will get so much exposure at Adrean Post compared to any other Oneida County legion team. If parents would just stop living through their son's careers and not worry so much about them playing every inning of every game, they would see how much the AP program has to offer.

Let me just point something out for everyone. Coaches do not lose scholarships for their players. You see when all is said and done your little Johnny needs to have ability. He needs to be able to shine when he has the opportunity. And what he gets at Adrean Post is a ton of opportunities to shine.

Check out this quote from Rich Hinnell, scout for the NY Mets, "I never want to see the day that Mike Macchione isn't out there," said Hinell, who was searched for young baseball talent at New York State's American Legion tournament since 1983. "He's one of the best, and it's obvious his kids love to play for him.

"You know his kids are going to play hard. That's what you've got to do to play for him. It's either that, or you're sitting next to him."

I am not sure that can be said about any other coach in Oneida County American Legion or even high school for that matter. So stop thinking that other programs can even compare to AP.

Stop thinking that the Fort will ever get to the level that AP is at. And for the love of God, stop thinking that just because a team beats AP during the regular season, that they have any chance at beating them at the end of the season. Seems to me that there is only one team playing right now as I write this commentary from The Jungle, Adrean Post.
