Kevin Roberts Receives Freshman All-American Recognition
Siena baseball ranks fifth in most improved teams nationally

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - (June 27, 2001) - Siena College second baseman Kevin Roberts (Utica, N.Y./Notre Dame) was listed as an honorable mention freshman All-American in the most recent issue of collegiate baseball.

Roberts, who broke the school’s record for hits in a season (69) and games started (57), batted .311 with 16 stolen bases for the MAAC regular-season champions.

Recruited primarily for his defense, Roberts played an exceptional second base, committing just 11 errors in 250 chances on the season (.955).

Roberts joins current pitcher Dave Pahucki (1999) and former pitcher

Dave Fields (1995) as Siena freshman recognized by the national publication, which produces an annual list of the country’s top rookie performers.
