Ben Crossley tasted the bitter and the sweet this year. As a first year player, Ben watched the first couple of weeks and learned what the staff was looking for in an infielder and specifically a thirdbaseman. When Ben’s time came around, he made the most of the opportunity and played great defense and got timely hitting. As typically happens with young players, the "zone" can be a fleeting thing and hard to re-capture at a young age. Ben soon found himself in a part time role, but showing a lot of character and poise by learning from the experience of playing in the state finals and what it takes to not only win but to contribute. Ben, like many of our rookies, has been continuing to workout and is constantly hitting whenever and wherever he can. Ben has aspirations of going on to play baseball at one of the military academies and with his drive and determination, no doubt will see that happen
