Comments:
Not since Pete Franco and Dan Julian have we had anyone
as tall as AP's version of the "Big Unit". At
6'5" Danny may not be the tallest pitcher-first baseman
around, but we'll take bets that there aren't too many
hockey goalies that come close to him in height! Dan plays
varsity hockey for T.R. Proctor High School and as a freshman,
did a great job in the posts for the Raiders. As a baseball
player, Danny has some real promising attributes to work
with
size. Dan has the work ethic to perfect a compact
pitching motion and get rid of his "elbows and
"
motion that he has right now. He poses an intimidating
figure out there right now, but it will be the control
and ball movement that will make the difference with Dan.
He already shows that he is a quick learner and a tough
competitor. As usual with someone as promising as Danny,
many think he won't make the transition as a pitcher.
Our staff does. If Danny struggles on the mound his first
year or two, this 15 year old will be a factor his next
two years for sure. Oh yeah, we think we'll be seeing
some pretty long balls coming off this bat in the next
few years too.
