Coaches Comments: There's a lot of growing left to be done with the big"unit". At 6'7" and still growing, Dan has been a real pleasant surprise to the staff. The most significant thing that we have with Dan is a real athelic body that plays great defense and hits from both sides of the plate and hits well. It's obvious to see that Dans quickness at first base with his feet, and his ability to "pick'em" with little effort has been enhanced by his playing goalie as a hockey player.
The issue for Dan will be consistency on the mound for AP. He has worked hard in the off season to change his pitching mechanics and if the additional velocity he found can be supplimented by throwing strikes when and where he wants to, then Big Dan has a bright future. A hard worker in practice, Dan enjoys playing the game as much as anyone. He's working hard to control his temper on the mound and though just 16 yrs. old, Dan understands the real meaning of "cool" in tough situations.
With County, District, and State Final competition under his belt, Dan knows how to win and be a big contributor.
College coaches will be lining up for a shot at Dan by the end of our season.
