Coaches Comments: Kev was a real pleasant surprise for us last year. As part of the "kiddie corp", Kev did a great job for AP on the mound his first year.
2002 will find Kev battling for playing time and so far his high school season shows that he has a real opportuntity to take a starting position someplace. Why "someplace"? Because Kev can play short, second, third and the outfield besides pitch. Just as significant is the fact that Kev puts the bat on the ball and shows a great eye at the plate.
In the infield he has "soft hands" and a great abiltity to anticipate on the pitch. For such a young player, Kev learned his lessons well from watching Matt Devins at short last summer.
Kev will not beat himself on the mound either. He has excellent control and will continue to develop his fast ball this summer. Kev keeps his team in the game and battles more like a veteran than a rookie.
The Staff is expecting good things from Kev in 2002.
